UCHealth Medical Fitness offers a 5000 square foot aquatics center featuring Northern Colorado’s only warm salt water therapy pool, a three-lane multi-use salt water lap pool and a handicap accessible hot tub.

Therapy Pool:

Warm water therapy allows adults to perform exercises in a pain-free and therapeutic environment with the following benefits:

  • Buoyancy: Buoyancy assists in unweighting the patients’ body mass, decreasing joint stress and making it easier and less painful to exercise.
  • Hydrostatic pressure: Hydrostatic pressure reduces joint inflammation, enhances circulation and improves joint position awareness.
  • Viscosity: The viscosity of water is an excellent source of natural resistance for strengthening. Patients can improve mobility, strength and function during the healing process.
  • Healing:Warm water stimulates body awareness, balance and trunk stability. Patients may experience muscle relaxation, resulting in an increase of blood flow and earlier healing.



This lap-swimming class is designed for adult swimmers who want to improve their swimming fitness, are training for an event or enjoy the motivation and company of swimming with others.


Ai Chi

This low-impact meditation class takes place in the warm water therapy pool. Enjoy 45 minutes of relaxation while improving your flexibility and balance.


Take advantage of the natural resistance and buoyancy of the water in this high-level aerobics class which incorporates cardiovascular conditioning and toning, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

Aqua Wave

This low-level aquatics class takes place in the warm water therapy pool. It incorporates cardiovascular conditioning, resistance training and balance work into one fun workout session.

Don has over 47 years of experience coaching all levels and ages in both competitive and exercise-focused swimming. He will teach you the tools you need to perfect your swim. Whether you are training for a triathlon, desire an improved fitness level or looking for that competitive edge, 1:1 swim instruction can help! Individual lessons can help to refine technique, as well as improve speed and efficiency.
