Zumba® Strength 

Class Description
Elevate your heart rate and improve your strength with this Zumba® Strength hybrid class. This group class combines the fun, social aspect of Zumba® with the challenge of strength training.

Recommended Skill Level

Intermediate levels and up. If you’re looking for the perfect combination of a cardio workout and strength training, Zumba® Strength is it. This is a fast-paced, complete workout to get in cardiovascular exercise and strength training. Beginner exercisers may find that our Zumba® or Zumba® Lite classes are a great way to get started.

Class Type

Hybrid: Strength and Cardio. Whether you’re looking to add more cardio into your weekly routine or need to strengthen your core, Zumba® Strength is the perfect hybrid class.

Class Breakdown

Zumba® Strength combines cardio and strength training workouts into a fun, social workout. The music fun dance-inspired music makes this cardio and strength conditioning class go by fast. Our instructors know when you need that extra motivation to keep working hard, but they also demonstrate modifications so you can get the most out of class.

Class Benefits

What sets this class apart from other strength and conditioning classes is its social aspect. Exercising with your friends is a great way to not only spend time together but also stay committed to your fitness goals. Meanwhile, you’ll be doing a total body workout, getting in both cardiovascular exercise and strength training. The benefits of cardiovascular training are numerous and include enhanced heart and lung health and improved blood pressure. The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of cardiovascular exercise each week for adults.

Because this class incorporates strength training, you’ll also reap the benefits of a stronger body. Many people find that daily tasks are easier thanks to strength training, including lifting heavy items and climbing stairs. A strong core helps improve posture, which can decrease the likelihood of developing back pain. Finally, many people report increased endurance not only in daily activities but in other workouts.

Why Zumba® Strength?
Cardio workouts are great for heart and lung health and can improve blood flow throughout the body. However, muscles don’t get the strength challenge in cardiovascular exercise. Strength training isolates individual muscle groups, and your newfound strength carries into aspects of your daily life. You might find that your posture has improved or that you’re able to lift more weight than you used to. Separately, cardio and strength training workouts are important but not a complete workout.

Enter Zumba® Strength. With all the fun of dance-inspired Zumba® and the conditioning of strength classes, Zumba® Strength offers a unique challenge but also an opportunity to exercise several different muscle groups.
